Improvement Mod version 5.0

Big update? Hell yeah!
Everything from new units to new animations, sounds, techs and... bug fixes...

- Minutemen and Colonial Militia ca now use a "hoe" in melee (increased melee damage)
- fixed Nanib from the India campaign (almost perfect)
- added new unique University tech for the USA (new icons for all techs)
- added new firing animation for archers and gun powder infantry
- added new bored animation for musket bayonet infantry (Musketeers and such)
- moved the Tashunke Prowler to the Native Embassy
- added the Oneida Rider to the Iroquois Native Embassy
- changed and added the Polish Winged Hussar to the German Command Post (also German cavalry cards now affects it)
- added Polish sounds for the Winged Hussar and new sounds for the Hoop Thrower
- War Tents can now train Disciples (Monks can't)
- improved the Stradiot (visual and stats)
- improved the Cavaleiro and Lancer (visual only)
- the Oprichnik now has a grenade attack against buildings
- Hand Mortars now fire high explosive grenades
- improved Mongol Scout, Shogun and Daimyo horses
- added the Cranequinier to the French (mounted crossbowman)
- tons of bug fixes...

    2. I think technology "Lay of the Land" should have every bіt Homecity, as a card, and yet it must be slightly altered, so that the entire map is not opened, but treasures

  3. Damn, i have only just reinstalled version 4.9.5 on a fresh installation of aoe 3. Do i need to uninstall/reinstall aoe 3 before i install version 5? I have no current game saves.

  7. Hey Mandos, can you add themes from American Conquest: Fight Back next to the list of themes that play during a game? They are quite good and fit the theme of Aoe3 as the game is also about colonizing the new world. Next I think you should increase the damage done to infantry from the Culverin to the amount that the Falconet do, but decrease the Area of Damage, that way it would be balanced and realistic.

  8. I saw your video on youtube Mandos and I thought it is the coolest mod I've ever seen, but for some reason I got a few problems. Like the american settlers couldnt build anything,there werent any icons to click and stuff, and some parts of the screen were black. I really want to try out this mod

      It's only for Asian Dynasties, that's why it doesn't work!

    Why Asians and Native Americans do not build defensive buildings, similar to those outposts?

    1. That is not a bug. I made them not to build those buildings because they didn't build them right. Instead of building them around the base and apart from each other they were building them glued together and thus they were useless...

    3. Well, no, that's the problem, they simply build them near each other all the time...

      It's very hard to code the AI, and I am no expert at it, they must be codded like outposts and castles but that's extremely long and hard and the smallest mistake makes the entire AI to crash...

      So, yeah...

  14. you do not know how to stop production of the settlers for the Ottomans? whether it is possible to do so by clicking on their card (button), they ceased to go?

    1. Getting Settler for free is a huge advantage for Ottomans, it must come with a price, a bad price.

  15. Great stuff here. Keep this up if you find anything worthwhile to implement.

    Can you tell us if you have anything else major to add? 5.0 seems like a good place to start or maybe after you correct a few more bugs. Thank you very much for this mod.

    1. For sure!
      5.1 is coming with fixes, new anims and a cool new feature which some might think it's stolen from "another mod", but it's not, I made the whole thing, and it turned out differently.

      As for the forum, yeah, I don't rly like the idea either for two main reasons...
      One, it will surely not be active enough, and second, I don't know if I will have the time to manage it in case it rly is active...
      Or it might just be purely useless...

  17. I'm interested in a German translation... (as this currently doesn't work with my German version of AoE III)
    If nobody's working on this I would like to do it on my own. (I'm a native German speaker)

    1. Well, the file you need to work on is "stringtabley.xml" from the "data" folder inside your game's directory.
      Open that file with Notepad and there you go.

      You basically have to manually change everything that is in English to German. It might take about 2-3 months...

      After you finish let me know. Have fun...

    2. Thanks for the information. As I copied the original translation into this file I "only" had to translate your additional stuff and I'm already finished with that^^.

      Anyway... Starting the game with my translated file copied into "data" still starts the game in English... (Single Player,... instead of Einzelspieler,...)

      And starting the game with the new Patcher my file is being replaced with the original one...

      anyway... no matter how I start the game, the USA Homecity is not selectable (as it isn't there at all....)

      Could it be the problem, that I own only the German Retail version of the game?

      Thanks for any help, you may aswell answer me via Skype (user-r3, I sent request) or e-Mail (I don't want to post my adress here, I'd give it to you via Skype ;) )
