Steam Group

Alright, new plan! I just made a Steam Group to hopefully make it easier for people who play the mod to get together and have fun playing on ESO without "out of sync"!
(or you can also join to find people to play with on Hamachi and stuff)
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/impmod

I only got 2 ESO IDs on the last post so I don't know what else to do for you guys, a group seemed like the only thing left. It is your choice if you want to join or not, but as a friend of mine said "I need a challenge!" and indeed many of you do want to face another player, so here is your chance.

    1. If you would have read the previous blog post Roman you would have seen everything I had to say about this, including the fact that THE MOD WILL WORK ON ESO IF ALL PLAYERS WHO WANT TO PLAY TOGETHER HAVE THE MOD. Its the same deal as with LAN.

    2. The fishery has been transformed into an american map treasure. Play Caribbean and look at water treasures, you will see it.

  4. Hey you made a great mod,it gave new live to an old game that i like but i was wondering have you considering modifying a little the resources at least the wood with the new pop cap,I went crazy creating villagers and everything goes smooth with mills and plantations unfortunately my settlers and the AI went full retarded because wood get depleted to early. I would modify it myself but I dont know if your patcher will overwrite my changes once updated. :D

    1. On the Help and Tools tab, here on the blog, this is all the info on OOS:

A common problem between AoE3 mods is the "Out of sync" error which seems to be a common problem while playing LAN and not so common on ESO, at least for this mod. It does not happen for everyone and it does not happen every time so depending on your situation you may chose how to play it, either way multiplayer should work.
      Should.

First of all, to ensure that OOS won't happen in the middle of a game you need to make sure your computer and internet connection are not lagging; lag can and will probably give OOS.
Second, make sure your game and your friend's game, with which you want to play, is absolutely identical, that they were installed in the same manner and you followed the exact same steps. This also applies for the mod's installation.
Third, if everything from above is checked and OOS still happens then try THIS! little, but powerful fix. It might work for you and your friend or it might not.

Another way to play LAN without errors would be to play custom maps, when setting up a game select the "Custom Maps" option and then select any map from the new list. The mod already comes with all default maps added as custom maps with the "day and night cycle" on them, so select any map from that list and try it out.

We're still working on this problem but some things are simply beyond our power.
Even so, as mentioned above your best bet is to play on ESO which is the perfect environment in which to enjoy AoE3 on multiplayer. Its very possible you might find others playing the mod as well.

  6. it's always happened during first minutes, yep we're identical,

okay, thank you for you help and explanation, cheers for your great work :)

    1. Well I have big news, apparently there are 2 solid way of playing multiplayer without getting "out of sync":

      1. As I said earlier playing on ESO seems to solve the problem completely and the mod should work there too.
      2. Playing "Custom Maps", this also works for LAN games. When setting up a game select the "Custom Maps" option from maps selection and play one of the maps from that list, "out of sync" shouldn't happen anymore.

      I hope it helps.
