Patcher fix!


I know some of you have problems with the patcher, but it has been released as a work in progress, meaning that it has been updated and improved in time and the older versions don't properly work anymore.

So please download THIS! updated version, place it in your AoE3 directory and run it as administrator.

Don't forget that the patcher can also be used as a full downloader and installer for the mod, meaning that you can simply place the patcher in a clean install of AoE3, run it and it will install the mod.

The patcher server is in US, so the further you are from it, the slower the patcher will work.


Now, about the forum, most of you do want it, but sadly there are not many of you...
I have seen many inactive AoE3 related forums, and this would be just one of them...
For now, keep posting comments here on the blog if you have any problems, a forum is very unlikely to come.

      Now, about the forum, the problem isn't the forum itself, I already made it, the problem is that it will end up unused or not active enough.

      Yes it does, I tell you the story why it failed. I downloaded it illigally to try out the game (I already owned the retail normal not complete edition and wanted to know what the expansions were like).

      Tryed it out for 2 days and than bought it on steam. Point is I was to lazy to download so I copy and pasted the content of the crack version into Age of Empires and let it download. After that I verified cache to get the cracked files gone.

      Either way I had to paste it in the "bin" folder, not in the Age of Empires 3 folder :P. Anyway, really glad I bought the game. I sometimes just try it out illigaly to test if it's fun and than I buy to support the company and to add the game to my steam collection :).

      I also put the mod in the Age of Empires folder not the bin folder and it tryed to patch the illigal edition. Now I double post just to get to the point :P. Sorry for double posting, was going to fast for my brain.

      Also, does the loading screen from Warchiefs suppose to pop up when you launch dynasties?

      Yeah, I've seen that, weird error pop up when I try to connect to it.

      I hope it hasn't been shut down, it was the main AoE3 modding website and my mod had more than 7000 downloads...

    Hey mando, still loving your mod. You mentioned that this mod works with gameranger. This is a shot in the dark if you know the solution, crosses fingers. I own AOE3 complete collection via steam, when i try to play the game via game ranger and i hit host it tries to open AO# vanilla and not asian dynasty's despite TAD being chosen via the drop down.

    My guess is that gameranger is trying to open the game through steam using the Appid associated with the complete collection, but that defaults to vanilla. The only way i can think of to fix this without gameranger themselves fixing it is if there is a launch option i can add via right click->properties in steam library.

    any feed back would be appreciated!

      Sadly I don't have the Steam version.
      And I don't have Game Ranger anymore either...

      Isn't there an option to manually select the exe?

      the exe is associated with game in options, but for some reason it still starts the game via the steam appid :(. Thanks for responding!

    Any plans/way to make it easier to uninstall? It would be real nice to be able to switch between modded and unmodded but I feel that's too far fetched.

      i copy the vanilla install and add no mod to the folder name. Then when i swap i rename it to the vanilla name and add MOD to the name of the folder with the mod in it. Same with the folder in my games. It's tedious but works. If you have steam copy you can just verify the install and that will set it back to vanilla.

      Just tried it, 26 files verified, but the intro videos still disabled and multiplayer gives me CRC mismatch, so it didn't uninstall completely.

    I have a big problem.

    When I updated the mod on 7 SEP 2012, the game lags significantly even in the menu (showing the Home City). I can no longer run TWC or AOE3 (it said 'Initialization failed). The game will not lag if there is no graphic display (Skirmish menu).

    Please help.

    I forgot how he was registered, but I know I saw him, he is black, why not implement a mod?

      Ok, I opened "Data.bar" from the "data" folder, typed "interface" and NOTHING showed up...

      How about you upload it to Media Fire and give it to me so I can see what's all about?
